Archiving & Accessing Music Media - The Great Migration

The task of archiving today's entertainment assets goes well beyond safely storing thousands of tape boxes and film cans. This is especially true in the case of music assets. To keep pace with the rapidly changing marketplace, it has become necessary to provide not only secure physical storage, but also to provide digital migration, restoration, electronic delivery and other studio operations. There is a strong case to be made that all these services should be available within the facility to minimize risk, improve service and reduce costs. In today's up-loadable, down-loadable, cloud-based, e-delivery-centric music marketplace, the ability to preserve and prepare music assets for secure and immediate delivery directly from the archive is key, making the archive not only the secure repository for valuable music assets but also the first link in today's digital supply chain.
