Developer
Copter Labs
At 26, I’m a nerd to the core — being a developer was always going to be my calling. My weapons of choice (for now) are PHP, JavaScript, CSS, and HTML, but this arsenal is always growing. I’ve been tinkering with code since the late 90s, and a few years ago I had a stint with my own company. Initially dealing with internet project management, the experience I gained from running that company led me into designing and developing in-house for some of the clients. This helped push me from coding as a hobby into the professional realm. The company met its sudden demise due to a couple of large clients leaving us suddenly. That incident didn’t deter me from keeping at the industry: I kept designing for small local businesses and doing some pro bono work as well as becoming more active within the design community on Twitter. Through chat groups and creating work relationships by lending a hand with other people's ventures, I managed to forge great connections with people in the web community all over the globe. My involvement in the Twitter community brought up a lot of great opportunities for my career; chief among those is meeting Drew Douglass and Jason Lengstorf. I now work with these fine fellows at Copter Labs, along with Henry Moran and Rob Mackay.
