The Daily Energy Report
Ben Lack has been working in the energy industry for more than 5 years. Currently, Ben is the Founder and Chief Conversationalist for The Daily Energy Report, an online publication that has been covering the energy sector, since 2009. The Daily Energy Report Show, which covers the day’s top energy stories, has been featured as “New & Noteworthy” and a top 100 video podcast by iTunes. The publication also features an Interview Series keynoting influencers and innovators in the Energy Sector. Notably, his guests have included Johnny Isakson, US Senator for Georgia, Jim Rogers, Chairman, President and CEO of Duke Energy and Jon Wellinghoff, Chairman of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, to name a few. Prior to starting The Daily Energy Report, Ben did business development work as the first employee of Current Energy, an energy efficiency solution start-up, in Dallas, Texas. Ben was instrumental in developing the World‘s First Energy Efficiency Store, the Current Energy Store, a specialty retail concept which focused on educating and selling energy efficient products and services to homeowners. The concept was awarded the Department of Energy‘s “Energy Innovator‘s Award”, in 2007, a first for a company in Texas. Ben‘s business development work reached internationally, when he helped the company acquire an energy management business in Russia. Nationally, Ben focused on the strategic development of different sales channels for new business. Ben also was an analyst for Retail and Restaurant Growth Capital, a $60 million mezzanine fund that invested in retail and restaurant concepts, where he was responsible for analyzing the fund’s portfolio companies’ performance. But, as Co-producer of The Current Energy Report, a nationally syndicated radio program that promoted energy efficiency, Ben fell in love with the media industry. Ben graduated from the University of Georgia and sits on the board of the UGA Alumni Young Alumni Council where he is helping create a 40 Under 40 list for the University. Ben has been the drummer of numerous classic rock and blues bands and has performed at The House of Blues, in Dallas, and the Nashville Symphony Hall. He is currently learning the saxophone and Krav-Maga.
