ALLEN BARGFREDE is an entertainment and technology attorney and an assistant professor of Music Business at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. He also serves as Executive Director of Berklee's Rethink Music Initiative in conjunction with MIDEM and Harvard University. Allen is the co-author of the book "Music Law in the Digital Age," published in early 2010. He serves on the Board of Trustees for the Boston Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts, and holds a JD and a BA from the University of Texas and an MA from Northwestern University.

event::about Berklee College of Music and Harvard's Berkman Center for Internet & Society are in the midst of a year long collaborative effort to initiate and promote discussion about the future of the music business. Assistant Professor in Berklee's Music Business / Management program Allen Bargfrede and Christopher Bavitz, Assistant Director of Harvard Law School's Cyberlaw Clinic, host a conversation with an artist or two about their experiences in the music business, and will focus on the ways in which existing legal regimes and business models inform (and are informed) by the creative process.
