Matt Kazman

Writer/Director
Matt is a filmmaker from Toronto who lives and works in Los Angeles. He likes to make comedies about uncomfortable moments.

His short film KILLER screened at the Sundance Film Festival and won awards at the Seattle International Film Festival, IFFBoston, Sarasota Film Festival, Ashland Independent Film Festival and Lower East Side Film Festival. It's now a Staff Pick on Vimeo and was featured on Short of the Week and NoBudge.

His independent pilot LOVE'S A BITCH screened at the New York TV Festival, and his short film FLAGPOLE was a Finalist for the Student Academy Awards. His shorts HASTA LA VISTA and TIGHT SPOT are also Vimeo Staff Picks.

He has directed shows and sketches for MTV, CollegeHumor, Fullscreen, and Refinery29. He has also directed commercials and branded content for REI, Postmates, Toyota, Sephora, and Intel (as well as some totally real spots for Amazon and Venmo that are definitely not fake).

He recently received a grant from the SHIFT Creative Fund to make FATHER FIGURINE, which is screening at this festival!
