Being Young and Rocking It
89 schedule::attendees
Location Marriott Courtyard, Brazos 2-3
eventtype  Panel, Interactive
Speaker  Brian Wong
event::about  Being a young entrepreneur in this period of time in business and commerce is an exciting thing. It is your biggest asset. You should rock it. But how do you rock it? How do you overcome traditional preconceived notions of being "younger", more "inexperienced", and "naive"? Simple. You turn them into your strengths. Everyone always talks about how being curious, how retaining youthful characteristics is a great way to succeed without bounds. Why can't those who truly embody those characteristics be the ones that indeed reap those rewards? Most younger entrepreneurs are at the edge of a cliff. They are looking for reasons to jump, or not to jump. There are lots of people willing to tell them all the reasons of why they shouldn't. Very few are there to tell them all the reasons why they should, and to help them throughout to show them how to grow wings in the process. I'm there to nudge them. Being a 19-year-old entrepreneur with a funded start up - experience at a well-known company in the social news landscape, and literally being thrown into a pit of extremely successful entrepreneurs as a non-American (a Canadian), helped prime me to learn all of the lessons that I will be sharing with everyone. Anyone fascinated by the elusive "young" entrepreneur - and especially the type that genuinely takes tangible action towards successful milestones in their career - and wondering about how to learn from them and to help nurture their growth - should come.

Rebooting Iceland: Crowdsourcing Innovation in Uncertain Times
57 schedule::attendees
Location Austin Convention Center, Room 9ABC
eventtype  Panel, Interactive
event::about  In the US, social media innovators are changing the way people work and play. In Iceland, these innovators may offer the best hope of rescuing an entire nation. Iceland emerged in the 1990s as a financial powerhouse after a thousand years on the sidelines of global history. Icelanders became one of the world’s wealthiest and happiest nations. In 2008, three of its banks collapsed, sending the national economy into a tailspin and shattering the people’s trust in government and industry. The government was quickly replaced by one promising transparency and reforms, while a protest party headed by a comedian took control of the Reykjavik city council. This new cast of politicians is not alone in their efforts to move Iceland out from under the economic cloud. Members of the country's tech and entrepreneurial sector, which saw explosive growth in the lead-up to the collapse, have emerged as leaders in grassroots efforts to set Iceland on a sustainable path. In 2009, a loosely-organized group calling themselves the Anthill convened a “National Assembly” of 1,500 citizens. The day-long event, based on Agile methods and crowdsourcing theory, resulted in a coherent set of values, vision and ideas. A second National Assembly was held in 2010 as a preparatory step in the development of a new national constiution. Inspired by open-source processes and leaning heavily on social media technologies, these citizens are rapidly prototyping new forms of democracy utilizing the web and open innovation.

In this core conversation we'll talk about how your company--no matter its size, focus or budget--can profit from integrating a social mission, how to win support for new initiatives and where to begin. Promiscuity or Private Groups: Mobile Photo Sharing
26 schedule::attendees
Location Hilton, Salon K
eventtype  Panel, Interactive
event::about  We all know photo sharing is nothing new - it's been around as long as photos have been around and that's a long long time! So what's all the buzz around mobile photo sharing now? Are people all jumping on the bandwagon to share their mobile photos? Instagram just passed 1M users within 3 months of their launch. Path introduced somewhat controversial private group sharing with 50 friends limit. And LiveShare by Cooliris just launched the first flexible private group sharing service for photos. Which brings us to question, are users more likely to resort to private streams? Is that where we are headed - small, intimate groups? What does it mean for the overall social graph(s) we have been building for the past years? Come and join in on the discussion around mobile photo sharing, the hottest topic in Silicon Valley.

Social Network Users' Bill of Rights: You Decide
53 schedule::attendees
Location Hyatt, Hill Country AB
eventtype  Panel, Interactive
event::about  The Facebook and Google privacy controversies of Spring 2010 highlighted the gap between technical innovation and user expectations on a global scale, leading representatives of various user constituencies to draft a definitive Social Media Users Bill of Rights for the 21st Century at the Computers, Freedom and Privacy Conference in San Jose, CA. The idea of a Social Network Users’ Bill of Rights (#billofrights) has been around for years, but no large user set has actually collated the key values and principles that should go into such a Bill of Rights and put them to a world-wide vote – until now. All privacy law is based to some degree on social norms. The panelists and other representatives of various user constituents drafted a definitive Social Media Users Bill of Rights. This kicked off a conversation between Facebook, the ACLU and others affected by technology’s expansion into daily life. The next step is to debate and have a public vote on it. The voting is open from now until June 15, 2011 – the anniversary of the date the U.S. government asked Twitter to delay its scheduled server maintenance as a critical communication tool for use in the 2009 Iran elections. As the preamble of the document reads, "We the Users," the “Bill of Rights” document has been released to the public for vetting and debate. This is an important step, both from a future activism and legislative perspective, in the fight to define our digital futures. Through this discussion, we will explore the evolution of privacy in the digital age, the changing relationship between users and online service providers, and the social, political and cultural ramifications of life in a networked world – and the SXSWi community will have a say in the development of a watershed document for user rights online.

The Why & How of Decentralized Web Identity
54 schedule::attendees
Location Hyatt, TX Ballroom 2-4
eventtype  Panel, Interactive
event::about  The big players in social networking are setting a plodding pace of innovation. New startups, keen to offer useful and exciting new means of communication, have migrated wholesale to platform-based approaches. Constrained by what it means to be boxed into 140 characters or Facebook's vision of a lifestream, we're left without a compelling view of what "social" means on the web. It's time to take back our identities, and with it the web. We'll discuss examples of how the web is more Awesome when people are a part of it (and not just a layer on top of a few companies' databases). We'll talk about what kinds of approaches make sense in this new world (and which don't), and discuss some successes (and failures) that have happened along the way. Parts of this discussion will be technical; you can't build the web without some HTML, and we can't build a social web without getting our hands dirty. However, tech is boring. You can always look up how to do something - knowing why you want to do something is the hard part. We're going to look beyond the modern gold rush, and talk about ideas that have lasting value for content providers, producers, and consumers, and why you should care.

Cashing Out: Start-up Successes in Latin America
15 schedule::attendees
Location Hilton Garden Inn, Sabine
eventtype  Panel, Interactive
event::about  The Latin American startup scene is blowing up. From Guadalajara to Patagonia, there is an exponential growth of emerging technology ventures. What inspired this new growth set off this explosion? A few trail-blazing tech and new media start-ups that cashed out big time. Companies, such as Brazilian shopping comparison site Buscapé’s $374M acquisition by Naspers, and ClanDescuento.com’s acquisition by Groupon, have proven that the inspired a start-up wave in Latin America is alive an kicking. that's making investors and even the U.S. technology press take notice. In this panel, composed of some of Latin America’s top entrepreneurs, we’ll discuss the opportunities and challenges for startups in the region. The advent of cheap technology that has enabled technical innovation on a scale never seen before. The cultural shift away from the traditional Latin American hierarchical model towards a culture of entrepreneurship and innovation that has enabled this growth. The historical lack of venture capital being allocated to the consumer web or technology sector, and what’s changing now. How startups have adjusted to this reality by making their operations very lean and efficient and in some cases, aiming for and, in some cases, achieving their break even points quicker.

The 90 Minute Solution: Live Like a Sprinter
78 schedule::attendees
Location Austin Convention Center, Ballroom D
eventtype  Panel, Interactive
Speaker  Tony Schwartz
event::about  Are you forever struggling to juggle more demands and get more done? That's not about to change any time soon. Demand is rising inexorably. Here's the problem: we're not meant to run like computers -- at high speeds, continuously, for long periods of time. Rather, human beings are designed to pulse rhythmically between spending energy and intermittently renewing it. The sad truth is that most of us don't do either one very well. We may dimly recognize that we're more efficient and effective when we focus on one thing at a time, but we still react, with Pavlovian predictability, to every new call on our attention. We know, too, that we work too many hours and sleep too few, but we underestimate the costs. In fact, sleep is more important than food, and our bodies crave renewal and recovery during the day every 90 minutes. Instead, we override these signals with caffeine, sugar and by fueling ourselves with our own stress hormones, diminishing our capacity and our productivity over time. Tony Schwartz, bestselling author of Be Excellent at Anything: The Four Keys to Transforming the Way We Work and Live, will lay out a step-by-step approach to a better way of working, grounded in multidisciplinary research and real-life stories from his work with organizations such as Google, Apple, the LAPD and Sony Pictures. Take one hour to immerse yourself in the new paradigm Tony lays out – including a series of strategies you can instantly apply -- and you’ll never work the same way again.

The last decade was the decade of social. The coming one will be the decade of games. Over the past years, a few key companies have built, and now maintain, a powerful framework to foster digital connections between our friends, family and colleagues. What comes next is another framework, not another social layer, but a "game layer". And it'll be even bigger. Instead of trading in social connections, the game layer traffics directly in human motivation. It's not about the number of followers you have, or how many people "like" you, but about how you can leverage game mechanics to achieve all sorts of great things. Use them cleverly and they can enhance education, empower local businesses and make your life more fun and more rewarding. Use them incorrectly and well... it's less good. Join Seth Priebatsch, Chief Ninja of SCVNGR, for a deep dive into the coming game layer, what to be excited about, what to fear and why your life is about to become a lot more fun.

This panel will gather experts from the social media monitoring and analytics world to share insights into the best ways to measure your social media campaigns without having to go to the ends of the earth to do it. What should you be paying attention to? What doesn’t really matter? How can you make measurement less of a burden and more of a strategic advantage? Panelists will share real-world examples of how you can start measuring with accuracy and ease without losing any more sleep.

event::about  With so much music available, finding new music that you like can be like finding a needle in a haystack. We need new tools to help us to explore the world of music, tools that can help us separate the wheat from the chaff. In this panel we will look at how visualizations can be used to help people explore the music space and discover new, interesting music that they will like. We will look at a wide range of visualizations, from hand drawn artist maps, to highly interactive, immersive 3D environments. We'll explore a number of different visualization techniques including graphs, trees, maps, timelines and flow diagrams and we'll examine different types of music data that can contribute to a visualization. Using numerous examples drawn from commercial and research systems we'll show how visualizations are being used now to enhance music discovery and we'll demonstrate some new visualization techniques coming out of the labs that we'll find in tomorrow's music discovery applications.

Hacking the News: Applying Computer Science to Journalism
46 schedule::attendees
Location Sheraton, Creekside
eventtype  Panel, Interactive
event::about  Reporters and editors work in ways that are still largely tied to old print and broadcast models. Applying lessons from computer science can help make journalism more scalable, flexible and personalized. This panel will discuss developments such as object-oriented programming, model-view controller frameworks, database-driven Web applications and social code repositories -- and explore how these principles can be applied to journalism and create the future of storytelling. For example, making stories in an object-oriented mindset can help journalists work more efficiently, reusing and building on past work. Stories can be created as structured data that can be mashed up and viewed in more flexible ways by readers. Readers can get personalized stories that highlight what's new to them -- rather than having to read through what they already know to glean the latest news.

Influencers Will Inherit the Earth. Quick, Market Them!
74 schedule::attendees
Location Austin Convention Center, Ballroom F
eventtype  Panel, Interactive
event::about  With a growing number of marketing activities taking place online today, the search is on to find the best way to market to online consumers. In this panel, we’ll discuss how influencer marketing may just be the ticket everyone has been waiting for and how best to use it. Influences are at the top of the knowledge dissemination pyramid. Look at “RT @guykawasaki” and you immediately get a sense of the power influencers have to spread information. They have a unique ability to surface interesting information and package it in a way that makes people want to click-through and act, whether through purchasing or retweeting. The idea behind influencer marketing is that it centers around identifying influencers, marketing to them and then marketing through them to reach the consumers whose attention they hold captive. With this tactic comes issues, like how do you identify top influencers in things like traveling, fashion or even cupcakes? It’s no easy task. Computational algorithms and semantic analysis however have progressed to the point where technology can now allow us to locate influencers in any topic in the world. In this panel, you’ll hear from the experts dissecting online influence and the marketers employing such maneuvers to intelligently reach their audience on their own turf.

Go Here, Do This: Location + Collective Action
66 schedule::attendees
Location Hilton, Salon J
eventtype  Panel, Interactive
event::about  Grassroots movements, flash mobs and now group purchasing--they all have an intimate relationship with location; it’s the linchpin that ties the movement together. For some time now, advertisers have tried to say “Go here. Buy this. Do it now.” But as consumers, we’ve been pretty reluctant to give in easily—there’s always another holiday for a car dealership to celebrate, and a liquidation sale at a furniture store just doesn’t motivate us anymore. Flash mobs, grassroots movements—they have been exceedingly difficult to create. They’re purely organic movements, born out of internet chatrooms, with a bitter reaction to rigid organization. The holy grail—a sudden influx of consumers—has always been just out of reach for most businesses. But more and more, brands are finding interesting ways to cultivate flash mobs of their own. Location based services play an important role in aiding these movements. Whether it be group purchasing sites created around local communities or mobile check in apps with flocks of users descending on a bar or restaurant, new tools continue to emerge for businesses and brands to create their own mobs. We'll look at what tools are available for building mobs and how they are being focused towards completing a specific action. We'll envision what tools have yet to emerge. And we'll explore the delicate balance between pushing an action or a message while maintaining the organic feel that characterizes these movements.

Paying with Data: How Free Services Aren't Free
61 schedule::attendees
Location Austin Convention Center, Room 9ABC
eventtype  Panel, Interactive
event::about  Until privacy advocates start freaking out about Facebook privacy settings or default broadcast settings on Google Buzz, the general population doesn’t quite understand just how much data they are offering up in exchange for use of free services on the internet. Each field filled out, each click gets translated into data-driven product improvements or are used to serve up increasingly targeted advertisements. Chris Anderson has explored the paradigm of “free” economics, but the concept hasn’t been taken far enough to suggest that we think of each data point as an economic transaction occurring between the user and the service provider, even in these “free” services. This panel will explore the idea that perhaps all user inputs could be thought of as micro-transactions of data in order to help users better comprehend the burden of the data exposure implicit in those exchanges.

Meanwhile your job/project/spouse/story sits there, staring at you with big cow eyes and wonders if you will ever leave the grid and do something real, something productive, something that will yield cash money and not just more followers on Twitter. Most of us work alone in a room, armed with a desktop that is more powerful -- and distracting -- than entire offices a decade ago, and yet the actual throughput of an average day can be negligible. Let's talk to some people who have actually done things -- written books, built businesses, created technology -- about their process. Do they have a clear, bright line between consuming media and producing it? Is it best to have multiple streams on one screen or toggle between to stay on task? Do they have a day part when they are off the grid? And why do great ideas come in the shower? Let's figure out whether the Web is the greatest productivity tool ever invented or a destroyer of initiative and long thoughts.

Your Ignoring Multicultural Markets Will Make Me Rich
11 schedule::attendees
Location Hyatt, Big Bend
eventtype  Panel, Interactive
Speaker  Sheila Marmon
event::about  People of color (Asians, Blacks and Latinos) in the United States represent one of the most dynamic consumer market opportunities. The multicultural population in the U.S. has grown 24% over the last 9 years versus 2% for the White population. A higher percentage of Black people are on Twitter than any other group. Asian Americans are richer than any other race. And our Hispanic population growth will lead the multicultural market to become the majority of all consumers by 2050. If you apply resources to these underserved market segments your business can flourish. There is a gold mine here to uncover. Yet even with these attractive characteristics, there are few large scale efforts in the digital space addressing the unique needs of multicultural consumers. What digitally driven advertising, e-commerce, subscription and other business models might exist to capitalize on this dramatic shift in U.S. demographics? Where are the largest opportunities? Where have we seen success stories? In this core conversation we will address how to create value at the crossroads of technology change and the disruptive demographic growth in U.S. multicultural markets.

Comedic Communication: Developing User-centered Humor Design
44 schedule::attendees
Location Austin Convention Center, Ballroom A
eventtype  Panel, Interactive
event::about  Reaching communities usually doesn’t include building an app or a Web site but creating a more tangible experience—And, inspiring those who are long lost to apathy to even consider taking part in this experience is the first and most difficult step. Designers often end up using stereotypical and common forms of serious, logical argument in communicating pertinent issues. But many designers have failed to acknowledge a common tool as one of the most powerful rhetorical strategies for use in their work: humor. Neglecting humor’s potential eliminates the chance of mastering a method of communication that has an unlimited usage scope because of its cultural role and human value. There exists a need for humor to become better understood in user-centered design, both in use and in evaluation. This panel will explore ways of communicating complex issues in a non-intimidating fashion. Discussions would provide advocacy organizations or individuals with new and more effective methods for deeper poignant messaging. The hope in furthering awareness of humor research in design is to significantly add to the area of design for social change using strong emotional approaches. As Mark Twain said, “The secret source of humor is not joy but sorrow.”

True influence flows from drawing together people with shared interests. The Female Funny: Is It Different For Girls?
35 schedule::attendees
Location Austin Convention Center, Room 16AB
eventtype  Panel, Film
event::about  Are men funnier than women? That question is one of the stupider distractions to derail female writers, actors, directors and filmmakers in recent years, because it puts women on the defensive and forces them to "prove" they are funny/write funny/know funny/can make funny. Within the wider challenges of the film industry, this has set up different challenges for women in getting specifically comedic film projects off the ground, from script to directing to funny roles for women to the practicalities of getting funded. Is it because, as NYT film critic Manolha Dargis has said, "It's all guys making deals with other guys?" Is it that women are hidden behind-the-scenes, as was debated in the "Daily Show vs. Jezebel" controversy? Are things changing thanks to trailblazers like Tina Fey, Amy Poehler and Kristen Wiig? How present are women in the surging Judd Apatow/Jonah Hill/Paul Rudd/David Wain canons - as stars, or supporting roles? And is it harder to get to the audience before the audience - the gatekeepers of the industry (and it's money) - who are those gatekeepers, what does their gender tend to be, and is there a humor divide? Or is funny funny, and can women make dick jokes as well as any guy? Finally, consider this comment: "It is incredibly difficult to find beautiful, talented, funny women over 35.” Every heard that about a dude? That was said by Colette Burson, co-creator of Hung. There's probably a dick joke in there.

19 schedule::attendees
Location Hyatt, TX Ballroom 1

event::about  Has documentation of experience become more important than experience itself? Are we creating experiences for the purpose of impressing, bragging and other types of “douchebaggery”? Sharing our lives with our networks has become second nature. Our streams are our reputation. By being constantly connected, the human experience has shifted from just having experiences to focusing on documenting them. But how much of it is created or altered just to share? We’re all content creators. As our curiosity and interest in the lives of friends and strangers grows, we’re changing the way in which we prioritize and filter the content for our networks…or at least what we choose to publicly share. Companies have become increasingly interested in participating in the social web and finding ways to become intertwined in our digital homeostasis. They seek out ways to filter through the “noisy” environment and uncover new insights and ways to effectively create products, services and messaging that appeals to our digital tastes and desires. How is our desire to share impacting how we live? Which behaviors are driven by intent to share and which are just reported as they happened naturally? How do we tell the difference between “memories” and “content?” What do we filter and deem “cool” enough to share? What are the innovative companies doing to navigate this changing environment? What are the new possibilities that news and entertainment providers have to keep an audience engaged with the next LeBron moment? What will democratization of events look like in terms of the mobile UX, and how important will private events be in relation to public events now that the barrier to communicating to EVERYONE in any time zone at any time will come crashing down?

Wikileaks: The Website That Changed the World?
43 schedule::attendees
Location Radisson, Town Lake Ballroom
eventtype  Panel, Interactive
event::about  Wikileaks began as an audacious idea, a statement about the potential of the internet to speak truth to power and to open governments. Barely four years later, the whistleblower's website finds itself at the centre of an unprecedented global storm over the leaking of hundreds of thousands of confidential cables from US embassies around the world. To many WikiLeaks's founder Julian Assange is a hero who has shone the bright glare of public scrutiny into places governments would rather keep hidden; to others he is a vandal, taking a sledgehammer to the secrecy all states need to maintain to function. Is Wikileaks just one expression valve for the web, one that would be replaced by others if it was closed? Has it changed the public's understanding of and relationship to government in any real and lasting way, or is it a media preoccupation?

Building School 2.0: Creating the Schools We Need
25 schedule::attendees
Location Austin Convention Center, Room 9ABC
eventtype  Panel, Interactive
Speaker  Chris Lehmann
event::about  SXSW explores the ways social media has profoundly changed nearly every facet of society from government to commerce to dating and friendship. Despite incredible societal change, K-12 education has remained largely unchanged. Every day, students leave their smartphones and laptops at the schoolhouse door. As a result, students, parents and teachers feel a powerful disconnect between the time students spend in school and the lives they live outside of it. If school is to remain a vital piece of young people's lives - and our society - it must evolve to help students thrive in our changing world. This is the notion behind School 2.0. But what will these new schools look like? What are the philosophical ideas that form it? How can we marry the best of what we know about teaching and learning with the use of 21st Century tools to create schools that are engaging, caring, and relevant places of learning for everyone involved? The story of the Science Leadership Academy, a progressive, inquiry-driven, project-based 1:1 laptop public high school will frame this presentation. Conceived as a partnership between the School District of Philadelphia and The Franklin Institute, SLA is considered to be one of the pioneers of the School 2.0 movement and has been recognized as an Apple Distinguished School in 2009 and 2010, has been written about in many publications including the Philadelphia Inquirer, Edutopia Magazine and EdWeek and has been featured in the PBS documentary Digital Media: New Learners for the 21st Century.

Next Stage Presents The Boxer Rebellion (acoustic)
17 schedule::attendees
Location Austin Convention Center, Exhibit Hall 3-4
eventtype  Panel, Music
event::about  Join The Boxer Rebellion on Next Stage for a special acoustic performance you won’t see anywhere else! “What’s past is prologue…” With all that’s befallen them, London-based quartet The Boxer Rebellion have a history that reads like a grand, intricately woven design. For a band who have been together almost ten years – during which their first (and, to date, only) label went bust shortly after their debut release and a key member had a near-death experience – such fluctuating fortunes would surely see most bands imploding in frustration. So what marks The Boxer Rebellion out from the rest? How have they endured in relative obscurity, held down day jobs to self-release a follow-up, and arrived at a kind of renaissance so far down a jagged career path? Well, one could point to the quality of the songs or the almost wanton uniqueness of their sound, but that would be remiss – they’ve always had the talent. Perhaps it could be faith in their own abilities – a bloody-mindedness that refused to go away? Not so – every band that has ever existed (or not) tends to think they’re the reincarnation of The Beatles. The simple fact is, the reason The Boxer Rebellion have endured thus far resides in a single word, a concept that was the insignia of their second album: Union. “We’ve always been a band that’s had a sense of seclusion, which has helped us extract the essence of what we are as a unit,” guitarist Todd Howe reveals of their working process, a point succinctly and wryly punctuated by frontman Nathan Nicholson: “I think if we were solo artists, we’d have all quit by now.” It’s this sense of alliance that has allowed The Boxer Rebellion to navigate a path beset with industry indifference and financial hardship to forge a career that has set industry landmarks from the base materials of undeniable talent and a cast-iron will. One such landmark came in the band’s recent live appearance on the silver screen in Going The Distance, a Hollywood feature film starring Drew Barrymore. In the movie, the band play themselves and effectively superimpose their name into the popcorn-chomping eyes of movie-going audiences throughout the world – performing two tracks from the Union LP (‘Evacuate’ and ‘Spitting Fire’) while also providing an original song, ‘If You Run’, for the film’s finale. All this on the back of a chance encounter with film industry spotters at a showcase in LA, who were so impressed with the band’s sold-out performance at The Troubadour, they promptly nudged the film’s director, Nanette Burstein, to make them the movie’s musical focal point. Since then, the band have found themselves attending red-carpet premieres in Los Angeles and London (in a location literally around the corner from where two of the band used to work in a shoe shop), before launching into a packed-out 20-date US tour in September 2010. Having self-released and virtually self-financed the follow-up to debut Exits, the band’s Union LP saw them make history by becoming the first unsigned band to enter the US Billboard 100 Albums Chart (no. 82) on digital sales alone. By the end of 2009, iTunes US declared Union their Alternative Album of the Year. A fitting climax to a year of toil and tussle, after this The Boxer Rebellion were primed and ready to embark on their third studio record. Enter producer Ethan Johns (Kings of Leon, Ryan Adams, Ray LaMontagne), whose unorthodox approach to recording became the perfect foil to the Boxer Rebellion’s almost tunnel-vision creative perseverance. The result of this dynamic – and the first album The Boxer Rebellion have handed over to a single producer – is the forthcoming breathtaker that is The Cold Still, an album that might never have seen the light of day from a band of lesser conviction. They have taken the trials of their formative years and built themselves a future that glows from the resurgent embers of the determination that refused to be extinguished all those years ago, and burns ever brighter still. For The Boxer Rebellion, what’s past is their prologue. Here’s where their story truly begins…
