It's the fourth year of the best breakfast to open your SXSW weekend, and as usual Magnolia's Cafe is the place to start your SXSW experience in the company of friends, both new and old, at "The SXSW Social Breakfast." Everyone is welcome, this is an open invitation to share breakfast at one of Austin's greatest Cafe's (or at least one of the greatest I've found in many years at SXSW) on the first morning of the conference.
Magnolia's will be opening up the patio area for the meeting, and of course we'll have the rest of the restaurant for any overspill, so turn up, grab a table, and enjoy a great meal. You'll have plenty time to chat, have your coffee, and still make it back in time for the first sessions.
9:00 AM

You say Tomato
We say Clamato
But regardless what you call it- it’s still a hangover. Come get yourself a little hair of the dog before you head to your first morning session. From 9am to 11am Friday thru Tuesday.
C’mon you know you need one.

PSFK is the go to source for new ideas for creative business. Our events bring to life the discussion that takes place everyday on our site with a focus on particular areas of innovation.
For the PSFK SALON AUSTIN held at the Driskill Hotel during SXSW, we will bring together leading thinkers in mobile marketing together with experts featured in PSFK's Future of Mobile Tagging report.
Marketers are using mobile technology to enhance consumer engagement at each stage of the traditional purchase path, impacting how shoppers move through it and sometimes transforming what the path looks like entirely. As part of this this event, PSFK will discuss with key experts themes that are emerging around the use of mobile tags and other innovations in mobile marketing.

The last decade was the decade of social. The coming one will be the decade of games. Over the past years, a few key companies have built, and now maintain, a powerful framework to foster digital connections between our friends, family and colleagues. What comes next is another framework, not another social layer, but a "game layer". And it'll be even bigger. Instead of trading in social connections, the game layer traffics directly in human motivation. It's not about the number of followers you have, or how many people "like" you, but about how you can leverage game mechanics to achieve all sorts of great things. Use them cleverly and they can enhance education, empower local businesses and make your life more fun and more rewarding. Use them incorrectly and well... it's less good. Join Seth Priebatsch, Chief Ninja of SCVNGR, for a deep dive into the coming game layer, what to be excited about, what to fear and why your life is about to become a lot more fun.

The Maple Leaf Digital Lounge (MLDL) is a pioneering event to be held during the Interactive portion of the 2011 South by Southwest Conference (SXSW) with the intent to highlight and promote innovative Canadian companies to the attendees of the SXSW conference.
We are creating a cluster of Canadian technology that will be featured as part of the lounge. It will act as a catalyst in promoting Canadian innovation to a large technology & media audience.
The MLDL will feature Canada’s growing interactive digital media technology companies from the following industries: social media, mobile, marketing, multi-media, game development, web development or any related IT areas. At the event, each company will have a table set up/booth to showcase their technology over a two-day period.
